If your business changes printers or you need to reinstall your existing Canon printer on a Mac, you must first uninstall the current Canon drivers. If you have unused printer drivers on your system, employees may not know which printer to use, resulting in both lost documents and productivity. Uninstalling the Canon driver from your Mac completely removes the printer from the system, preventing confusion when choosing the correct printer. Avoid having a list of useless printers on your computer by making sure only the correct drivers are installed and functioning.
1.Double-click the “Macintosh HD” icon on the desktop and select “Applications.”

- Aug 13, 2013 Original Title: Canon MX350 printer I cannot remove the MP drivers (Canon MX350) from my computer. In the remove programs the option asks to remove the drivers but it tells me that the driver files are currently being used and aborts.
- You cannot delete the Canon IJ Printer unless you are logged in as an user with the administrative right. For information about an administrative user, refer to the Macintosh manuals. The procedure to delete the unnecessary MP Drivers is as follows.
Click the 'Drivers' option in the left window. This will bring up a list of all the printer drivers installed on your computer. Right-click the Canon printer driver and select the 'Remove Driver Package' option from the drop-down menu that appears.
Double-click “Printer Setup Utility” in the fourth column.

Select the Canon printer you want to uninstall and click “Delete.”
5.Close the Printer List dialog window to return to the previous screen.
8.Select “Canon” and click “BJPrinter” in the next two columns.
9.Click the “File” menu and choose “Move to Trash.”
10.Open the “Finder” menu and select “Empty Trash” to delete the driver.
11.Open the “Apple” menu and click “Restart” for all changes to take affect.
Tip
- If you plan to reinstall the Canon printer, uninstall the Canon printer driver first. Otherwise, you may see duplicate printers on your company's network.
Warning
- If you don't plan to use the Canon printer any longer, uninstall the Canon driver before installing any other printers. Uninstalling first prevents any potential conflicts between printer drivers.
